Founder terms

Founder requests are open. A spot and rate are confirmed only after the required $0 payment method validation succeeds. Review the essentials, then choose a plan.

  • Founder rates: First 15 $219/month · Next 35 $249/month. Both rooms. The rate is held for as long as your membership stays continuous.

  • First charge: only when the studio opens, after SOFI emails the exact amount and a cancellation link.
  • Cancelling: Cancel any time with seven days' notice. A founder who cancels rejoins at the list rate of the day. The founder rate is not restored.

SOFI Pilates Founding Membership Agreement

This is the exact text that will be stored in `terms_versions.body` and shown to you before any payment method is saved. Nothing in it takes effect until you accept it.

1. What you are agreeing to today

You are reserving a membership at a studio that has not opened. You are charged $0 today. You save a payment method now, and nothing is taken from it until the studio opens and SOFI has emailed you the exact amount and a cancellation link in advance.

Submitting a request holds nothing. Your place and your rate are confirmed only when the secure payment-method step succeeds and your chosen plan is still available.

2. Your rate, and how long it lasts

There are 70 places before opening. They are not all the same offer, and the difference is the whole point of this section.

The founder rate is held for as long as your membership stays continuous. There is no month count and there is no expiry date. It is not twelve months, and there is no good-standing test: continuous membership is the only condition. The protection begins when your membership starts at studio opening, not when you make this request.

The founder rate is personal to you. It is not transferable, it is not re-offered, and it is never matched or re-discounted for anyone else.

The 20 opening-member places are not a founder rate. They are the published list rate of $315 for both rooms, and if SOFI's list rate changes, an opening member's rate changes with it. Opening members receive every founding benefit in section 4.

3. The founding window

Founder pricing closes when the 50 founder places are taken or on January 31, 2027, whichever comes first. After it closes, memberships are sold at the published list rate.

4. What every founding and opening place includes

  • Your first freeze is free. One freeze at no charge, on SOFI.
  • Priority booking when a class fills.
  • Your name on a reformer.

5. How you pay

SOFI offers you a bank account (ACH) first, and a card second. Paying by bank debit costs SOFI materially less than a card, and that difference is part of how these rates are set. You may choose a card instead; the rate is the same either way.

Whichever you choose, your payment method is saved now and charged for the first time only at opening, after the advance notice described in section 1.

6. Cancelling

Cancel any time with seven days' notice.

If you are a founder and you cancel, your founder rate ends with your membership. Rejoining later is at the list rate of that day. The founder rate is not restored. This is the trade the held rate is made of, and it is stated here so it is not a surprise later.

7. Referral pricing — placeholder, not an offer

SOFI intends to publish referral pricing. It is not part of this agreement and nothing here promises a referral reward. No amount, free month, or discount is offered by this document. If and when referral pricing is published, it will appear in a new version of these terms and you will be told.

8. Your rights under New York law

SOFI sells health club services in New York and this agreement is subject to New York General Business Law article 30.

YOU MAY CANCEL THIS CONTRACT WITHOUT ANY PENALTY OR FURTHER OBLIGATION WITHIN THREE (3) BUSINESS DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THIS CONTRACT.

If a refund is due, it is processed within ten (10) business days of your cancellation notice.

You may also cancel and receive a pro-rata refund if the studio does not open, if you move more than twenty-five miles from the studio and no comparable facility is available, or if you become unable to use the facilities because of disability, as provided by GBL § 624.

Financial security

This club has posted the financial security required by law.

SOFI has filed a $50,000 surety bond with the New York Secretary of State under General Business Law article 30, bond number 101959392, issued by Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual) of Des Moines, Iowa, with SOFI PILATES LYNBROOK INC. as principal. It has been filed and active since July 29, 2026.

The bond exists to protect you if the club closes. You may ask a representative of the club for proof of compliance with this law, and you may also obtain that information from the New York State Department of State, Division of Licensing Services, 162 Washington Avenue, Albany, N.Y. 12231.

9. What is not decided here

The following are outside this agreement and are not promised by it: the opening date, the class schedule, the instructor roster, referral pricing, class packs, and any benefit not written in section 4.

CONSUMERS RIGHT TO CANCELLATION. YOU MAY CANCEL THIS CONTRACT WITHOUT ANY PENALTY OR FURTHER OBLIGATION WITHIN THREE (3) BUSINESS DAYS FROM THIS DATE.

To cancel within three business days, send notice by mail or by email to SOFI Pilates Lynbrook Inc. at contact@sofipilates.com, and return any contract forms, membership cards and other documents you received. Any refund due is made within ten (10) business days, and any credit or loan agreement you signed is returned to you.

ADDITIONAL RIGHTS TO CANCELLATION:You may also cancel this contract for any of the following reasons: If upon a doctor's order, you cannot physically receive the services because of significant physical disability for a period in excess of three months. If you die, your estate shall be relieved of any further obligation for payment under the contract not then due and owing. If you move your residence more than twenty-five miles from any health club operated by seller. If the services cease to be offered as stated in the contract.

A refund on any of those grounds is made within ten (10) business days, less the actual expenses of the services already received and any goods you have consumed, and never more than the full contract price.

SOFI Pilates Lynbrook is a planned health club. At your option, this contract is voidable if the health club and the services it provides are not available within one year from the date you sign it.

SOFI accepts a cancellation within three business days of your notice. On an annual renewal you have fifteen (15) business days after the renewal takes effect to cancel; on a monthly renewal you have three (3) business days. You may cancel on sofipilates.com, by email, by phone, by mail, or in person at the studio.

No SOFI contract for services runs longer than thirty-six (36) months, requires payments or financing over a period longer than thirty-seven (37) months from the date it is entered into, or is measured by or for the life of the buyer.

No SOFI contract for services requires payment of more than three thousand six hundred dollars ($3,600) per annum.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR HEALTH CLUB MEMBERS. New York State law requires certain health clubs to have a bond or other form of financial security to protect members in the event the club closes. This club has posted the financial security required by law: a $50,000 surety bond, Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual), bond no. 101959392, filed with the New York Secretary of State and active since July 29, 2026.YOU MAY ASK A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CLUB FOR PROOF OF THE CLUB'S COMPLIANCE WITH THIS LAW. Any contract for services that does not comply with article 30 of the New York General Business Law is void and unenforceable.
